SHG Zinc (HCM SHG 99.995)

  • SHG Zinc (Z1) produced at HCM is used mainly in the automotive and construction industries.
  • It is used for galvanising steel sheets, constructions and profiles for anti-corrosion protection.
  • Huta Cynku “Miasteczko Śląskie” S.A. offers SHG (Special High Grade) Zinc produced in accordance with the PN-EN 1179 standard.

  • GOB Zinc (Z5) produced at HCM is used primarily in the brass manufacturing. It is produced in compliance with the PN-EN 1179 standard.
  • The zinc is cast in plates weighing approx. 25 kg and measuring 480 x 240 x 40 mm, and then formed into packages of 44 pieces weighing approx. 1 t (commercial unit).

Galvanising alloys

  • HCM offers galvanising alloys based on its own SHG Zinc with the Aluminium addition.
  • In the industry sector they are mainly used in galvanising plants. We produce a whole range of alloys from ZnAl02 to ZnAl1. Most popular grades include:

ZZA04 alloy is are produced is all sorts of blocks – from 2 M euro jumbos to 1 mt and smallers ones.

Die Casting alloys

  • We offer ZAMAK alloys, ZL5 grade as well as all other grades in line with the EN 1174 standard.
  • Basis individual requests, we are ready to offer alloys with modified, custom-defined specifications.
  • All of our alloys are produced on the basis of our own, primary SHG Zinc, with no recycled or scrap Zinc.

Special Alloys

  • At the individual request of the recipient, we are ready to offer special alloys, both in 8-kilogram ingots and in jumbo blocks. We regularly produce zinc – magnesium – aluminium and zinc – nickel alloys, mainly in 2 MT eurojumbo blocks.
  • We are well experienced in producing alloys with high contents of aluminium (even above 20%), magnesium, copper and other alloy additions.

Lead

  • The lead produced by HCM S.A. complies with the PN-EN 12659 standard. The quality of the lead produced in many respects exceeds global standards, and the lead itself can certainly compete with products from all over the world.
  • Lead is produced from HCM’s own lead bullion, without the use of any lead scrap, battery scrap or other residues.
  • It is mainly used for the production of batteries or for making loads and ballasts.

Lead Pb 970R – H20POLSKAMS is certified by the London Metal Exchange. Pb970R lead is cast in ingots weighing approximately 40 kg and measuring 600 mm x 120 mm x 140 mm, arranged in packages of 25 pieces weighing approximately 1 t (commercial unit).

Refined cadmium

  • Refined cadmium is a by-product in zinc refining.
  • The main areas of cadmium use include paints and pigments, as well as nickel-cadmium batteries.
  • We sell cadmium in blocks with dimensions of 1400 x 300 x 246 mm and weighing approximately 670 kg

Dore Metal

  • Dore Metal is an alloy of silver with low contents of copper, lead and gold.
  • It is a product for further refining into pure silver and gold, for electronic and jewellery industries.
  • Dore Metal is cast in anodes (plates) weighing approx. 16 kg.

Raw Materials

Basic raw materials

As of 2024, the only type of raw materials HCM processes is secondary and waste oxides. We have now completely stopped buying and processing sulphide concentrates from external suppliers.

We buy oxide feeds such as:

  • Waelz oxides;
  • Conditioned oxides;
  • Hydrooxides;
  • Various types of homogenised residue streams

Lead content in our raw materials is welcome!

Other raw materials

Other raw materials include:
– Hard zinc
– Zinc skimmings and ashes

Waste processing

Within its existing IPPC permit HCM offers recycling services. Each material is evaluated individually based its specification and samples. Main streams of waste materials we process are:

  • Black mass from battery recycling
  • Steel dusts from EAF
